Once the zigzagging hormones and endless, bleary-eyed exhaustion of the first year have worn off, you're left with the startling realization that your tiny, immobile bundle has become a rampaging toddler, complete with his or her very own, very forceful personality.
Just as Sippy Cups Are Not for Chardonnay helped debunk decades of parenting myths to offer honest advice for the first year, Naptime Is the New Happy Hour is a voice of reason for every woman facing questions such as: Will refined sugar make my toddler's head explode? Is it wrong to have a cocktail at two in the afternoon? And what exactly is a Backyardigan?
With biting wit and boatloads of common sense, Stefanie Wilder-Taylor addresses all these concerns and more. Whether it's planning easy outings that are fun for both of you (fact: your child will find the local Target just as scintillating as the Guggenheim), dishing the dirt on preschool TV (those mothers who swear their kids don't watch television? Liars or psychos, every one), or perfecting the art of the play date, readers will find advice, anecdotes, and a reassuring sense of camaraderie to help them survive -- and even thrive -- during each hilarious, frustrating, and amazing moment.

Summary: Hilarious book!
Comment: This is a great book for all moms. She talks about her struggles, but also her joy of being a mom with alot of humor to go with it. Great book!

Summary: Hilarous insight into Toddlerhood
Comment: Every mother/father of a child, young or old, should read this quick, light book about one mom's foray into Toddlerhood. The author's humor is not for the weak at heart, but any parent can find a friend or a mentor in the author. Laugh out loud, tear up with sweet memories, and roll your eyes at the silly antics of toddlers. You may find yourself thinking, "ah, those were the days..." Then pour yourself a glass of wine and laugh. NO they were not!

Summary: funny and entertaining
Comment: I bought this book wanting something funny and entertaining while I wait the arrival of my baby. I laughed and laughed throughout the whole book. The author is funny and she takes you through situations that come up in every moms life. I also bought her other book "Sippy Cups are not for Chardonnay". I would read this one first because it's about her when she was pregnant and having a new baby. They are both a must read. I can't wait for her to publish another book.

Summary: Don't get me started!
Comment: This book had tons of promise, but the author continuously takes every situation just a little too far. The voice of the narrator sounds too much like a washed up stand up comedian trying a little too hard, trying to boil every situation into a little zinger that more often than not falls flat. The quirky little mannerisms presumably inserted for comedic effect ("Can I get a whoop whoop? Hahaha!") truly made the book sad. I love mommy humor as much as this next person but I am sure there are better books out there.

Summary: Great Read
Comment: This book is a "tell it like it is" about the toddler years. I really enjoyed laughing about how life with toddlers will turn your world upside down. I good way to relax after a busy day with toddlers. Enjoy!
