Summary: Please
Comment: I'll make this review as brief as it should be, because this book doesn't deserve much. I'm a social studies teacher at an alternative high school, where this book is used by numerous teachers. I decided to pick it up and give it a read, because truthfully, I'll pretty much read anything that's in front of me. I was immediately intrigued by the title, which of course reminded me immediately of Jefferson Airplane which reminded me immediately of "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas". Well, Hunter S. Thompson this is not. I can hardly even believe that this book claims to be factual, because that notion is so completely laughable that it truly is hard to believe. The first 50 or so pages actually come across quite well, and it is by no stretch of the imagination hard to believe that this could truly be the work of a teenage girl writing in her diary. The remainder of the book is however, hard to get through without rolling your eyes. It almost turns into one of those marijuana "Truth" commercials, where it becomes so ridiculously over the top, that it becomes counter productive. The portion of the "diary" that discusses the other children picking on her (the writer) upon her return to school as a "square" student is as utterly ridiculous as it is insulting. I can't believe anyone bought into this 30 years ago, let alone in 2009. I am shocked that this is given the rating it has based on so many reviews, but then again many of them refer to the main character as Alice, so that probably shows how deep the reviewers read into it. With books like this representing the "cool" and "edgy" side of the high school curriculum, it's no wonder teenagers don't want to read anymore.

Summary: Great book
Comment: Read it in health class and it really makes you think about the end and what happened to her. It's a quick read and it's not unworthy of the time either. I knew what drugs can do, but reading an actual journal of it, really makes you want to stay away from that stuff. On regard to book shipping, it came new and quickly. Great service. :]

Summary: Amazingly realistic
Comment: This book was the best book I have ever read. I found myself completely attached to the protagonist. It was an extremely realistic outlook on teenage life. I defiantly loved this book and found it a shocking portrayal of a girl's life. Buy this book. YOU. WILL. NOT. BE. DISSAPPOINTED.

Summary: Go Ask Alice
Comment: Have you ever felt like an outcast? Like no one in the world cares? Alice has. She was a harsh life in a school were she only had maybe one friend. She was so lonely that the only person she could talk to as a friend was her diary. Things didn't change until she moved because it gave Alice the chance to start over and make new friends. Alice was having a great time and had so many friends. But then one day she was at a party and was playing a party game. Some one put LSD in her soft drink and before she new it she was hooked. The one drink that ruined her life as she found her self on the streets of a mean city.

Summary: Go Ask Alice (an AWESOME book)
Comment: Have you had to let go of something that is almost impossible to let go of? Something intense? Something life changing? Something that may have seemed good at first, but then came back to bite you in the future? Alice has. Go Ask Alice is the true story of a fifteen year old high school girl and how she got hooked on drugs.
Alice started out as just a normal girl; your average, everyday nobody. She didn't have too many friends, but her life was okay. She started out a little depressed and wanted to "diet." She ate almost nothing and her mom told her to stop. She started to get mad. But Alice thought her life was starting to get better when someone who used to be her close friend called her and invited her to a party she was having.
When she arrived, her friend served everyone drinks. But in some of them were a very addicting drug. For Alice, this was the beginning of the end.
This is one of the best books I've ever read because it really describes her feelings. Because it is a diary, you feel like you are right by her side when she is having every single one of her adventures. I would rate this book with five stars. If I had the chance, I wouldn't change one word. While you are reading it, you will find yourself happy when she is happy. Sad when she is sad and confused when she is, too. You will feel her pain and joy, mostly at the same time. You will get to meet the people she comes across and learn to love who she loves. I think that this non-fiction story is a must read for all young adults.
