Kevin Leman wants you to know that men are less complicated than you give them credit for. At the core of men, you'll find a sensitive, emotional being that needs to feel loved, respected and needed. Men are very protective of their core. It's this protective behavior that keeps men from openly sharing their feelings with women. But, Kevin Leman knows that the more you understand and are sensitive to the fears, anxieties, and insecurities that make the men in your life behave the way they do, the stronger your relationships will be.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS:

Customer Rating: 33333
Summary: not his best, but good
Comment: This book has some good information but if you have read "Sheet Music," then there really isnt much need to read this book. It has mostly the same info but with less detail.

Customer Rating: 22222
Summary: Sexism, Religion Taint Good Advice
Comment: (Male reader.) Strip away a couple dozen sexist 'solutions' Leman offers and get rid of the many unnecessary references to God, Jesus and the Bible, and you actually have some practical wisdom in here. But no woman I know would take it seriouosly. Too bad. If you're looking for a divorce, guys, slip this under her pillow.

Summary: Loved It!
Comment: Thank you Dr. Leman! I now have a new kid (because I read the book, Have a New Kid by Friday) and my husband has a new wife. It really is simple to please your man. I have been carefully applying your methods although some are very painful for me. I am getting better every day. I am passing the book around to all of my girlfriends and I will read it again when I get it back. Well done.

Summary: Of what value would a relationship like this be to me?
Comment: I think this book stereotypes both men and women. And it focuses so much on the differences between them that to be honest, if I didn't already know better, I'd be afraid to talk to a man. In fact, I'd feel like I owe him an apology if I say more than ten words a minute five times a day.

My husband and I communicate well. And one of the reasons we do is that I don't check a list of pre-decided "masculine traits" before I talk to him. Sometimes we don't connect in our conversation, but it usually has nothing to do with gender and more to do with personal differences -- which, by the way, has sometimes hindered my communication even with my female friends.

As for masculine anger -- well, I'm serving notice that anger doesn't just belong to men. Women get angry, too. Anger in and of itself doesn't have to be a bad thing, but when a man verbally kicks me instead of the dog -- well -- suffice it to say I don't put up with two seconds of it, whatever his needs are. Good manners and good listening go a long way -- and neither one of these is gender based.

By the way, if these seven things are what he needs, but won't tell me about them, then I say it's his own fault if he doesn't get them. Moving your lips and saying what you want is not a hard thing to do, and it can be done by men as well as women. I've never heard of a scientific example of a man losing his testosterone level if he honestly communicates. If people can't swallow their pride and come out and say what they want, then they have nobody but themselves to blame.

I want to treat my husband well. There's no excuse for men or women to treat each other badly. And the good news is that communication does not alter the hormone level of either gender. But even if it did, it would be for the better.

Summary: This book is AWESOME!!!!
Comment: 7 things he will never tell you is a great book. There are a few paragraphs that one may understand but you need to read and meditate over the paragraphs and commentaries. It has helped me understand my husband and my 21 year old son better. We have a better relationship in our marriage and my son is not so beligerant anymore. I would especially recommend this book to all those domineering women out there. I am one of them and almost lost my husband because of it. Read it, you definitely will learn something from it.
