Summary: A wonderful book!
Comment: I loved this book! It weaves Bible history and secular history together in a way I have not seen before. It's an easy, quick read, but leaves much to mull over and consider. Highly recommended!

Summary: Pathetic extremist one sided views
Comment: WOW, I never read a more one sided twisted view of history. Anyone with half a brain can see that her pathetic views on history are easily proven lies. They are based on typical fundamental Christian intolerance and bigotry. If you want to teach your child to be tolerant of others, and not to be a bigot, best stay away from these religious extremist views that lead to intolerance, bigotry, hatred, and eventually violence.

Ruth Beechick states that: "at first some desert people were nomads of mixed descent-from Ishmael' twelve sons, from Midian, and others. After some centuries they became known as Arabs."
She later states about Ishmael that "his mother and his wife were Egyptian, so his descendants were mixed right from the start"
Then she states "Unlike with the Arabs, Israel's early history is clear. They are descendants of Jacob, whose name God changed to Israel."

She mentions Ishmael's 12 sons from "Midian, and others", but fails to mention that Jacob's 12 sons who became the 12 tribes of Israel were from 4 different women (2 were his wives). She also makes the statement that Ishmael's "mother and his wife were Egyptian, so his descendants were mixed right from the start", but fails to mention that Abraham and Sarah (Jacob's grand parents) were half brother and sister from the city of Ur in Mesopotamia.

I could go on and on, but don't want to insult Israel or Jews while disputing one sided statements made by a Christian.

Summary: Great Book!
Comment: Love the way Ruth Beechick has put her books together. This is a great study tool and worth it's weight in gold. How cleverly she joined history and compiled it into a non exhaustive book. I highly recommend it!
