Now every kid can write like a Wimpy Kid!
An exciting companion to the bestselling Diary of a Wimpy Kid series.
“First of all, let me get something straight: This is a journal, not a diary.”
This innovative interactive journal based on Greg Heffley’s own “diary” lets kids express themselves in an exciting new way. In Diary of a Wimpy Kid Do-It-Yourself Book, kids will be asked: What was the best dream you ever had? The worst thing you ever ate? The best secret you ever heard? The most trouble you ever got in for something that wasn’t even your fault to begin with? This Do-It-Yourself Book features art throughout, along with ruled and blank pages for readers to create their own stories, keep their own diaries, and record their favorites and least faves. Includes a bonus full-color comics section featuring the collected cartoons of Greg Heffley and his best friend, Rowley.
Includes
16 pages of full-color comics!
“Move over, Harry Potter. . . . There’s a new set of titles dominating the bestseller list for kids’ chapter books, and there’s nothing ‘fantasy’ about these.”—Andrea Yeats on NPR’s All Things Considered
“Perfectly pitched wit and believably self-centered hero . . .”—The New York Times
“Charming and hilarious from the get-go. . . . [Kinney has] an uncanny eye for the depredations and triumphs of middle school life.” —The Boston Globe
“The writing is sharp, and the artwork, though deceptively simple, is both entertaining and expressive . . . adding comic punch to these funny-because-they’re-true scenes . . .” —Bookpage
“Perfect for someone about to go to middle school, perfect for parents to help ease their child into this new phase. . . . Kinney has done a wonderful service for preteens by talking about all those awful, embarrassing, and good moments.” —The San Diego Union Tribune

Summary: Wimpy Kids Book
Comment: My 9 year old loves these books. I would recomment for any kid between 7-12

Summary: Amazing and engaging
Comment: My 6 yr. old (almost 7) is reading and writing on his own with this book. I bought this as a more creative activity book for a long car trip. He had a pen in hand writing answers to the questions 5 minutes after opening the book. I love it. I'm sure he will be drawing pictures as well. Thank you Jeff Kinney. My child is engaged with a smile while keeping his skills up over the summer!

Summary: A good journal -- NOT a diary! -- for your child
Comment: I recently picked this book up for my son after passing over it for quite a while. My 10-year-old son loves this series (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), but he's never been enthusiastic (to say the least) about writing or drawing.
Surprise! This book has been as big a hit with him as the actual story books. It's the humor that attracts him. The lists, quizzes and half-drawn comic strips are just plain goofy fun. My son tore off to his desk for a pen and immediately started completing checklists (scored at least one point in a team sport... check!) and drawing his own cartoon character (Lightning Force). I think he completed the drawing of his personal "injury list," but he won't show me that, because he doesn't want to scare me!
The Oct. 12 release date of the fourth Wimpy Kid book is etched in my son's mind and I've got a job to do that day. Until then, this is the journal (remember... NOT a diary!) that will keep him occupied.

Summary: Great book for creative boys.
Comment: My 7-year-old son asked for this book; I bought it for him this afternoon; and he spent the next (literally) six hours absorbed in it until I kicked him up to bed. If you have a bright son who loves to draw, write and express himself, this book is for him. Girls love to write about themselves; boys sometimes have trouble, and this book gives them a kick-start by providing templates for written and artistic expression.
