The highly anticipated third book in the critically acclaimed and bestselling series takes the art of being wimpy to a whole new level.
Let’s face it: Greg Heffley will never change his wimpy ways. Somebody just needs to explain that to Greg’s father. You see, Frank Heffley actually thinks he can get his son to toughen up, and he enlists Greg in organized sports and other “manly” endeavors. Of course, Greg is able to easily sidestep his father’s efforts to change him. But when Greg’s dad threatens to send him to military academy, Greg realizes he has to shape up . . . or get shipped out.
Greg and his family and friends, who make the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books a must-read for middle school readers, are back and at their best in this hilarious new installment of the series, which is sure to please current fans while attracting new ones.

Summary: My Nephew loved these books
Comment: My Nephew is 9 and had borrowed the first book from the library at school and loved it, so I bought him the others. He read these books fast, it wasn't an effort to get him to read after school, cause he looked forward to reading these books. Too bad there is only 3 of these books.

Summary: A fun read for young readers
Comment: My kids laughed and chuckled all the way through this story. Writen from a perspective of a child, it is full of great adventures and funny jokes. It will entertain the fussiest of readers and bring lots of funny conversation as they try to share.

Summary: A great book for all ages!
Comment: I started reading the Wimpy Kid series when the second book came out. When I first saw it I wasn't really drawn to it, it actually looked kind of dumb. But when somone recommeded it to me I decided to give it a try and was I IMPRESSED! It wasn't until then that I really belived that you can't judge a book by it's cover. My mom loved it too, it packs an outragous amount of humor and the drawings are great!

Summary: Have to love it!
Comment: I've not read this series, however, my "just turned" 9yr old son absolutely loves it. I'm very glad this is out there and helps him to enjoy reading. Slowly we are moving him to the classics. These type of books help! Thank you.

Summary: Still a Wimpy Kid
Comment: When Greg's father considers sending him to a military school over the summer so he'll shape up, Greg decides that he should do all sorts of manly things to prove he doesn't need to go. Greg is back along with his funniest friends in his second half of eighth grade. Now, Greg spends about half the time trying to impress Holly Hills, who is a girl he likes. But at the same time, he must do things like play soccer and join the Boy Scouts to try to convince his dad that he does not need to get shipped off to military school. This book is classic Wimpy Kid, the simple drawings and story are humorous and it is not boring. Unfortunatly, The Last Straw is not as funny as the first two. As I read through it, there were fewer times I let out a laugh. It is still a great book though, and it is well worth reading even if your not a huge Wimpy Kid fan.
