Now the world’s foremost experts on the subject share their techniques for reading body language signals to achieve success in every area of life.
Drawing upon more than thirty years in the field, as well as cutting-edge research from evolutionary biology, psychology, and medical technologies that demonstrate what happens in the brain, the authors examine each component of body language and give you the basic vocabulary to read attitudes and emotions through behavior.

Summary: Truly Definitive, yet definitions can be rigid
Comment: The book presents truly comprehensive and detailed descriptions of body language and their analyses. The authors leave very few stones unturned. I would definitely recommend this book as a body language guide. The book could have addressed reading body language in context, rather than as making definitive statements. The authors leave little room for interpretations of certain gestures and movements beyond their own definitions. I'm not talking across cultures, but even within U.S. culture, they tend to make rigid statements about how to read body language in very specific ways. Often, I have observed that you must read individual body language cues within context of other cues. These multiple signals will send a message that may differ from what one originally thought about the first cue. Still, the book serves as a great reference and tool.

Summary: no footnotes, mostly urban legend
Comment: These two folks make an enormous amount of unattributed statements. If authors do that, one would hope that they would reference a specific assertion to an actual source. No such luck in this book. In the first chapter they state that recent mri scans show women have more areas of communication in their brains then do men. This may or not be true, they cite no source for this statement so the non-comatose reader can check out the validity of their statement.Neither of them, from what I can deduce, are doctors. This entire book is 'science or studies show....'. How can one write a non-fiction book and not backup at least some of their statements. If you like pop psychology this book might be useful for light reading. The lack of footnotes or specific attributions kills this book for me.

Summary: Easy to read. Very informative.
Comment: I was looking for something to better undrestand the body language of others and to become more aware of the body language signals I might be sending. I think this is easy to read, entertaining, and has good information.

Summary: if you could see me writing this, you'd know I'm lying
Comment: Being an appreciator of the silent information given by all of us, as well as all things people, I purchased this book to add to my information base, as I am a palmist and enjoy and love humanity, purely. Learning is fun, for me. After reading only a few pages, then arriving at the "Fortune Tellers" section, I realize that the book is made up of words without meaning, for me. I should have been tipped off by the term itself. Who uses "fortune tellers" as a description that's not telling an old gypsy fairytale? Certainly not someone claiming to be an authority at that subject.
The claims that psychics are giving information based on guessing a clients life issues by reading their body language is absolutely an indicator that they've never had a reading by a psychic. I'm not saying there are not pretenders out there, but honestly, I met a phoney in a bar in 1988, but never another. Try faking psychic ability. One would have to be a great actor and then there's this question, why? Who would want to intentionally deceive, even con nice people? That's not the reason psychics read. It's entirely about helping and loving humanity.
I have a feeling that if we met, your voice would sound a lot like a duck.
Quack! I guess the world is made up of some of everything. You, the authors, are both doing your part to add to the flavor. No thanks, no second helping for me.
