Summary: Bought it to replace lost school book
Comment: The book was in pretty bad shape, worse than I thought. But my son had lost his school's version. I either had to replace it or pay way more money. School didn't seem to mind this copy and it wasn't much worse than the one we had already.

Summary: Loved sharing it with my daughter
Comment: I grew up loving this book. It is such a great story of love, courage, and determination, and of course the ending always made me cry like a baby. I bought it recently to share with my 10 year old daughter, and we read it together. She loved it too, and we both bawled for pages of the ending. She is dying to share it with our mother-daughter book club, although the moms are already getting out their hankies...

Summary: Classic for all ages
Comment: I first read this book when I was in the fourth grade. I have since read it about 10 times. I can pick this book up and read it from cover to cover and never be bored. No matter how many times I read it, the book always moves me. I am 26 now and the book still has an impact on me. If you haven't read the book, you must pick it up. Share with your kids, or your parents, or your neighbor. They will thank you later...

Summary: Touching! by S.H. From Annapolis
Comment: Anybody who loves dogs will be leashed on this book. Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls is about a boy named Billy who trains two redbone hounds how to hunt. The story takes place in the Ozarks. The characters are Billy - a smart boy, Old Dan - a strong dog, and Little Ann - a smart dog. Old Dan is my favorite character because he is brave.

I am like the main characters because I used to have two dogs. That is my text-to-self connection.

I liked this book because it's touching. My favorite part was when Billy won a contest. Boys and girls, ages 8-14, would like this book.

Summary: A Sad Novel and It Grows In the Red Fern
Comment: Where the Red Fern Grows is a sad novel about a boy that saves to buy his two dogs. I know you are wondering if he saves up enough to get the dogs, but it is up to you to find out! At the end, you would NOT believe what happens, it will leave you in tears and you will be dumbfounded. I would recommend this book to children in middle school because I am in grade 7 and the school I go to has all the students read this book.

The best book I have ever read was Where the Red Fern Grows. Anyone who is seasoned with dogs should read this book. Billy loves his two dogs, Old Dan and Little Ann. This book makes me remember the times I had with my dog. The end of this will make you cry.
