Comment: My 4 year old son has loved this book since he was 3 and continues to ask me to read it for him to this day. The story itself is mediocre to me but as long as my child loves it, I can't really complain. The biggest problem I have with this book is the color of the illustrations. I don't understand why nobody else has pointed this out yet before. The man in the book has several sets of caps, "his own checked cap, then a set of gray, brown, blue, and red caps"; however, the colors in the book are not consistent. The blue caps in the illustrations are more of a green hue and the red caps are definitely orange. When my son was younger, I just read the book as it is but now that he is older, he has pointed out the colors do not match the story. So now whenever I read it to him, I have to replace the colors myself so they match the illustrations. It's not the biggest deal in the world but for such a well-known and highly praised book, I would've expected someone to mention this. And also, maybe in the future, the illustrator can correct the colors before production.
