What's a Princess to do?
It's Mia's senior year, and things seem great. She aced her senior project, got accepted to her dream college(s), and has her birthday gala coming up . . . not to mention prom, graduation, and Genovia's first-ever elections.
What's not to love about her life? Well . . .
- Her senior project? It's a romance novel she secretly wrote, and no one wants to publish it.
- Prince Phillipe's campaign in the Genovian elections isn't going well, thanks to her totally loathsome cousin René, who decided to run against him.
- Her boyfriend, J.P., is so sweet and seemingly perfect. But is he the one?
- And her first love, Michael, is back from Japan . . . and back in her life.
With Genovia's and her own future hanging in the balance, Mia's got some decisions to make: Which college? Which guy? How can she choose? Especially when what she decides might determine not just the next four years, but . . . forever!

Summary: A fabulous way to wrap up the series
Comment: Forever Princess, the last volume of the Princess Diaries series, takes the reader on a journey through the end of Mia's senior year in high school. It is clear throughout the course of the novel that Mia has indeed matured from the days where she was lusting after Josh Ritcher and claiming to be a 5'9', flat-chested freak who was failing algebra. Now, Mia's problems are a lot different- deciding on what college she should attend, finding someone to publish the romance novel she wrote for her senior project, and trying to reconcile differences with her ex-best friend Lilly. But, quite possibly the most interesting dilemma of the entire novel is the mental and psychological struggle Mia undergoes in deciphering whether her current boyfriend, J.P., or her ex, Michael, is the one she truly loves.
Despite the plot line that is a clear homage to the ending of the series, Mia's slightly apathetic wit, her numerous pop-culure references, and her uncanny spirit and tendency to overlook and overanalyze things is still very much present. This, however, is not a bad thing and shows just how much everyone's favorite literary princess has grown up while still retaining some of her most lovable qualities.
If you are a loyal reader of the Princess Diaries series, you will only feel satisfaction (and a little bit of sadness, too, since the series is over) once you close to book. Meg Cabot has managed to close off the series convincingly and wonderfully.

Summary: Outstanding Finale!
Comment: Forever Princess, the final book in the Princess Diary series, is a great ending to a fabulous collection of books. I have to say that I had a few bones to pick with Ms. Cabot during books 8 & 9, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, hoping that it was all part of her plan and that it would conclude just as it should in the final book. And I was not disappointed. Completely satisfied and enjoyed every page. I should mention that because I so desperately wanted to know how it would all end that I read this book in about six hours straight. And now that I have digested it, I plan to reread it, savor it slowly and enjoy every bit. Definitely one not to be missed. Outstanding!

Summary: the perfect ending to a perfect guilty pleasure
Comment: The final book in this teenage fairy tale is just as much an addictive guilty pleasure as the previous, showcasing the growth of this very real young woman and her finally growing into the princess (not just with the tiaras, but the grace and power and wisdom and benevolence that goes along with it) that she was always meant to be. Of course, before she gets there, she has to deal with choosing a college, her father's election (as she's brought democracy to her country), trying to get her romance novel published, and--of course--her too-perfect boyfriend while the love of her life returns to town. While the book is just juicy fun and guilty pleasure, the writing perfectly captures the voice and character of a real and wonderful young woman, not only a great role model, but also one that can be identified with. While it is a silly fairy tale, it is true to the nature of heroism. Grade: A

Summary: Fitting, memorable conclusion to one of my favorite series ever
Comment: In the two years since she last wrote in her journal, seventeen-year-old Mia Thermopolis has been pretty busy: trying to mend the broken heart left in the wake of Michael's departure for Japan; getting heavy with J.P., her new boyfriend and fellow "artist"; writing a 400-page romance novel, Ransom My Heart, and trying to find a publisher for her masterpiece; becoming closer with Tina Hakim Baba following a fall-out with Lilly Moscovitz, her long-time best friend. Since the ninth installment of The Princess Diaries, this final chapter in Mia Thermopolis's life is just about as picture-perfect an ending as I could have anticipated.
Rather than divulge any secrets, I'll just say I was absolutely thrilled with the resolution of Cabot's fantastic YA series. I devoured the entire book in two nights, unable to stop reading. As readers and devoted followers of the series, Mia's growth over the past four years was amazing. What's been so awesome about catching up with the characters is watching as we all grew up together, in a way. Though I'm 23 to Mia's 18, her plights and decisions -- regarding family, college, love -- still resonated with me. It's hard to forget those pinnacle moments in your life, and Cabot does a great job of exploring the implications and complications of those big decisions we make -- some of the first as young adults.
In Forever Princess, Mia is able to mend some fences, forge ahead with new plans and ideas and make smart decisions regarding her future -- as both a young woman and future ruler of a European nation! Everything that has made The Princess Diaries fun and exciting was here -- romance, friendship, family, love, responsibility. While the ending might seem a bit "tidy" to some, I thought it was perfect -- a fabulous end to a wonderful ride. I'll miss riding along on all of Mia's adventures -- especially with her bodyguard, Lars -- but will always remember this series for its fresh voice, unique and memorable characters and compulsive "readability." Highly recommended!

Summary: Perfectly Princess
Comment: The final book in the wonderful series The Princess Diaries does not disappoint. It is a book that picks up much later than the other books do, missing almost all but the last of Mia's senior year. However the reader feels like they have never truly left Mia's side.
I am a recent college graduate and have been reading the Princess Diaries since freshmen year of high school. Mia's journey has been filled with heartwarming and very realistic, completely self obsessed, teenage questions, mixed with princess duties.
In this book, Mia finally completes the growing up she started at the end of Princess Mia. Her character leaves behind a lot of the naive and childish thoughts, she changes a lot of the "Why me?" into "Why am I doing this?", and her final realizations are ones that any reader would smile at. It has come full circle and this pale-blue, free looking book is the perfect end to Princess Mia's teenage transformation.
I love it!
