Summary: Absolutly ADORABLE
Comment: I am so impressed with this book. It captivated my 5 year old twin daughters from the first page. What a great idea for a book, a kitten thinking the moon is a sauser of milk; and the adventures the little guy has getting to it. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has little ones and enjoys bedtime stories or anytime stories!!

Summary: good simple story of a thirsty cat
Comment: This book is about a kitten who simply wanted a bowl of milk which turns out to be quite an adventure. I loved this book for its cleaver and humorous story and simple yet stylish illustration. The author depicts the cat's curiosity and character well. I'm sure my daughter only wishes our family cat is as sweet as the cat in the book.

Comment: I like Kevin Henke's other books ( especially "A Good Day") but I cannot recommend this book. It's too painful for young children. Young children tend to identify with baby animal characters in picture books, and the kitten in this book is shown as a helpless victim. The illustrations are beautiful but they don't lessen the cruelty the kitten suffers. If you're looking for a gentle bedtime book, I'd recommend "The Tiny Patient", by Judith Pederson, or "At Night" by Jonathan Bean, instead.

Comment: My daughter is only 14 months old but responds well to this book; its bold but sweet black-and-white illustrations and the simple yet emotive language really appeal to her--and me! The length, too, is just right--not too long or too short for bedtime.
