Comment: My son loves Legos and they are made very well. He has spent hours playing with them. If your son likes to build then Legos are great for them.

Comment: Our [...] old Grandson loves the legos. He will build for hours and we also found that he is gaining patients with these toys. You need to look at the pictures to build and also helps with the eye to hand cordination!

Comment: When my son saw this in the store he immediately clamped himself on to it as if it were his salvation. Despite his parent's failure to cave into to his demands, Santa remembered and this showed up at Christmas.
For our son (5 at the time) who is an avid lego builder the building was not hard, he had it together pretty quickly. However in terms of play it simply wasn't that exciting. The range of motion of the crane is limited, it simply goes up and down. While this may be realistic of a container loader its not very gratifying.
A recent birthday brought LEGO City XXL Mobile Crane which is more complicated (but not probably harder to build), and more expensive, but much more versitile in terms of play.

Summary: Fun Toy, But Not for Little Kids
Comment: The LEGO Container Stacker is a fun toy, once built. This is the kind of toy that a smaller child can't put together alone, so it's not very educational until a child is at least 8. After it was constructed, my son liked to lift the container, put things in it, and drive the truck, but the concept of building was pretty lost on him. I also bought him the LEGO Road Construction Set at the same time and he liked that a lot better because it allowed him to build different things, not just the single container stacker. Overall, a good product but for older children only.
