Summary: Look, Ma, another one of the new dinosaurs!
Comment: How can you not be fascinated by a dino with Edward Scissorhands (or Wolverine, or Freddy Kreuger) style, and a name so close to Thorazine? I have enjoyed watching it appear among the newer finds, archaeologically. All the feathered dinosaurs are fascinating, and the proportions of this one are unmistakable -- so it was with just absolute delight that I found this creature at the Dinosaur Store in Cocoa Beach.

As mentioned by another reviewer, this is not a small model. It's not huge, but it's a lot bigger than the Microraptor and Caudipteryx made by the same company. Also, mine at least tends to tip forwards. It's got lovely detail, and the feathers are wonderful. Today's dinosaur models are so much more fun than the ones of 30 years ago, and they go so well with the articles and books that kids (and adults) may be reading.

Great toy, great paperweight, great conversation piece. Highly recommended (although Microraptor is still my favorite).

Comment: Just brought this back to my 4-year old as a present, and he absoultely loves it!

We first saw Therizinosaurus on the "Chased by Dinosaurs" DVD series by Nigel Marvin, and we've been looking for the dinosaur toy since then. It's slightly different than depicted on the series (with almost feather/bird like features on the arms and tail, and more of a brown coloration than is depicted in the video).

However, the dinosaur itself is much larger than I imagined and of pretty good quality. I've purchased a lot of dino's in the past from various companies (including the German ones), and this is pretty close to their level of quality. The only two downsides against the quality is 1) a seam which is clearly visibile across the stomach, and 2) the paint seems to rub off pretty quick.

On the plus sdie again, this dino is a *lot* cheaper than the German companies (Bully and Scheich), and for pure "value for money" I give this bad boy 4 stars (I've also not been able to find a Therizinosaurus from these companies).
