Summary: Son loves it- has some faults
Comment: My son loves this toy. It was the only puzzle he was interested in at first. He loves the noises it makes when he puts the puzzle in.
The drawbacks are
- The noises are activated by light so they can be set off even if he doesn't have the puzzle piece in correctly. They can also be set off if the lights in the room change
- The sound quality is mediocre and some of the animal sounds just don't sound right.
But since the noises are what attracts my son (17 months) to the toy- I say it is a keeper.

Comment: My grandson is a special needs child. This gift was engaging. He wanted to put the pieces in the correct place and enjoyed the sounds as he removed the puzzle pieces.

Comment: Awful Awful Awful! I am a teacher and was uphauled by the poor educational value this puzzle has. Let me go through the points:
1. the sound quality is terrible, and the sounds don't even sound like animals. We got the zoo animals, transportation and farm animals. When I wasn't looking I couldn't even match one of the animals sound to the animal name. I can't imagine that it would be that challenging to make a duck sound like a duck.
2. The sensors don't always work and when they do it's at an inapropriate time. I'll be in the other room making dinner and all of a sudden the pig (or was it a pig?) will begin squaking
3. The puzzle pieces don't quite fit correctly, so this can be frustrating for the child
So, overall I wouldn't waste your money. It's not your typical nice Melissa and Doug quality. Sad, very sad.

Comment: It would be ten times better if the darn puzzle wouldn't go off when I turned the lights off or on or sometimes even just walk by it. I ended up throwing the couple I had out!

Summary: Farm Sound Puzzle
Comment: This is one of my favorite puzzles. I do developmental therapies for children birth-3 and this puzzle is wonderful. The animal sounds made when the puzzle piece is correctly placed in the space encourage language development (children often will repeat/say animal sounds before words). Matching skills, labeling, and eye-hand coordination are also practiced. The puzzle is very sturdy. It would be nice if there was an off/on switch because of moo's in the middle of the night!
