Summary: Furminator - tears up coat
Comment: When these first came out, I thought they were terrific -- but after using them on several dogs, I discovered they cut/tear too much of the top coat/guard hairs that most people want to keep. I also found it a little rough on my dog's skin. Since then, I've discovered the Oster Wide 18-tooth rake which is phenomenal. VERY gentle on the skin and it pulls the undercoat easily without cutting or tearing. The Oster rake has been much more effective for easily removing huge amounts of undercoat quite easily. The Oster is also about half the price and definitely worth every penny.

Comment: It does what it says! My dog has very thick fur, so I have to brush it with a regular brush first or it pulls on her alot. It definitely gets the undercoat though!

Comment: this product does exactly what it claims...removing the underlying coat of hair from my Australian Sheppard's coat. She looks and feels so much better after being brushed. It makes you realize how useless all regular brushes are. good product.
