Comment: We had previously bought the alphabet version of this puzzle, and both this number puzzle and the alphabet puzzle came and the pieces were not painted all the way around, as pictured. Instead, they were just the plain wood on the sides and back. Just FYI.

Comment: We have a lot of Melissa & Doug puzzles, but my son loves this one the best. The quality is good, and the colors are very stimulating for a young curious mind. Highly recommended for any toddler over 16 months.

Comment: I'm very pleased with this puzzle. I think it's great that each piece has the corresponding number of little critters surrounding it...a really good way to reinforce counting. The pieces do get beat up after a while, especially if dropped on a hard floor or banged together, but they are wood and not plastic, so it's to be expected.
