Summary: not for us
Comment: this toy was given to our 12 month old twins for their birthday. i hated it right away. my kids would press the button and hold the gears and it would grind and then they would cry. they just wanted to be able to take the gears off and on while the center gear turned but they couldn't. They would get angry with it and throw it to the side and move on to another toy. the pieces get lost so easily and there are not enough of them in the first place! a year after recieving this toy we attempted to sell it in a garage sell for a dollar. it was the only toy left at the end of the sale! i even tried to give it to one mother who politely refused the free toy. Maybe she, like me, realized that this toy has no educational value, the peices will end up everywhere, and her child will quickly loose interest like any child with an imagination.

Summary: Cute toy but not much to it
Comment: I purchased this toy for my 7 month old daughter, the box says for a year and up but I don't see older children spending much time with this toy. It's cute. It lights up, the gears spin and are removable, but there isn't much else to the toy. My daughter pretty much just takes all the gears off and uses them as teething toys. It has kept her occupied for the most part so I can't complain too much especially since I spent less than $15 on it. My only concern is that she likes to hold down the gears when they spin and I'm afraid it might burn the motor up. But overall I think it's a good toy for the price, just don't expect hours upon hours of entertainment from it.

Comment: The gearsworkgreat, but if you loose one,you are out of luck. And they fall of very easily. It would also be nice if more were included so there were more stacking options. My son also likes to hold the gears, which burns the batteries out, since there is no atomatic shut off if they get stuck. But he does enjoy it.

Summary: Great for Special Needs Child
Comment: Our 20 month old "special needs" daughter loves this toy. The button is relatively easy for her to press and the music that plays rewards her efforts. She is just beginning to work simple puzzles and has been able to get the gears on the posts a few times. Even children with limited motor skills will love watching the gears light up and turn to the music. Great toy!

Summary: Not a Fan
Comment: This is one of those toys that I wish the kids would just LOSE. They (1yr &3yr olds) don't really play with it, it is REALLY loud, and the pieces don't store well. The toy has to have it's own shelf, b/c you can't stand it on it's side, and you can't put anything on top of it without the sound going off. It looks cute in the package, but I am just not a fan.
