Summary: Seems boring to me, but she really likes it
Comment: Got this for my 2 year olds birthday because she seemed to be into stacking things. It seems somewhat boring to me... but she really likes it. She definitely has no concept of putting them on their right pegs yet or anything, but I'm hoping this will come with time and playing with it, with her. It has differant game ideas written on the bottom to help you interact with your child and teach her differant aspects of learning. It is interesting to her enough to pick it among other toys to amuse herself with for a good amount of time while I'm busy doing other things, too.

Comment: i coudn't believe they did that. i love m&d products. my kids are very gentle with their toys, but somehow the glue didn't hold. had to re-glue it.

Summary: my son & his friends like this!
Comment: At 27 months, it's hard to get children to sit still, but my son and his friend will sit and play with this, faking us out by pretending to put the block on the wrong peg, then switching to the right one, dropping it on, and looking up to us for approval. We name a color or a shape & ask them to point to the correct stack of blocks and say the word.
Of course, his favorite part is holding it up high and turning it over to dump the blocks all over the floor and slide them around like knock hockey...

Summary: Bang for the buck
Comment: This is an excellent toy for small children. It can help your child learn colors, learn shapes, learn to count, and learn to sort. When I bought this toy, I hesitated because I thought it was so simple that my daughter would figure it out and then move on to something else. But I was wrong.
My daughter enjoys putting the pieces onto the correct pegs, or sometimes putting them on the wrong pegs, then looking at me to see my reaction. She also enjoys setting them up on their sides and knocking them down like dominos. She stacks them like blocks and sorts them on the floor by color. She grabs a container of some kind and fills and dumps. She counts them and identifies their colors.
Some other reviewers have raised questions about how some of the shapes correspond to the numbers. I think the circle corresponds to the number one because it has one "side," which is the diameter of the circle. The rectangle has two long sides and two short sides, so it goes with the number two.
