Summary: Tangrams with style
Comment: Tangoes has always been a great implementation of tangrams. This edition steps things up a bit with higher-end materials than the usual plastic.
That said, I would have liked it if the quality of construction had also been stepped up to match. A bit more precision on the cutting, and rounding all of the edges would have really made a big difference (the metal's stamped, and so winds up rounded on one side but not the other).
Still, it's a pleasure to play with these pieces. Short of taking the time to make them yourself, getting this set is a nice way to add a little luxury to your shape-shifting.

Comment: i've had this game for some time now and love it. it's so simple to learn but endlessly challenging to master.
since i enjoyed tangoes so much, i thought it a good gift for that hard-to-buy-for ceo-type. i knew he'd enjoy the game, but i was hesitant to give him the regular plastic version like the one i've had for so long.
i was pleasantly surprised to see this upscaled version and even more pleasantly surprised to inspect it up close when it arrived. it's a beautifully made walnut case and the pieces are just as nice.
it made the perfect gift!
