Summary: Excellent for kids
Comment: This was one of my favorite books as a child and is now my son's favorite. Very entertaining and the cut-out sections showing the reader what is "going on underground" is fascinating for a four year. Great book.

Summary: Good, but shorter than expected
Comment: My four-year-old son and my six-year-old daughter both liked this book. My only complaint is that it isn't really long. It only has a handful of stories, and we have read them all. I just wish there were more for the price. I guess we'll just have to but more of his books!

I remember this book from when I was young. As an inquisitive child it was an all-time favourite, nurturing those many "how" and "why" questions of a fascinated little boy!

Summary: Not The Original...Not by a long shot
Comment: I bought this book thinking that even though it was abridged it would be as great as the original version. Boy was I wrong, some of the most entertaining and interesting parts of the book are GONE!
It was absolutely heartbreaking. I don't know why the publishers have altered a wonderful book leaving it hollow and less interesting than it should be. Do yourself a favor, find an original edition on ebay or half.com . You'll be much happier.

Comment: I bought this for my 4 year old and she absolutely loves it! It is really great for kids who have a million questions about how things work and it does a phenomenal job of explaining a typical process (e.g., building a house) from end to end (including laying sewage and water pipes underneath the ground). It gives the details that curious kids really want to know in a fun, darling way.
