Summary: Don't Waste Your money
Comment: I originally balked at paying a higher price for loops and found out about being "penny wise and pound foolish." Quality makes a difference; these were difficult to use and as a result it turned my daughter off from pursuing the activity (which bummed me out; I loved this as a kid!). Loops were inconsistent and would either overstretch or not stretch enough. The material they're made from was too chunky, so the actual weaving requires some finger strength and determination. The white warp weave in the loops really stood out, making it more difficult to differntiate one loop from another. Spend the extra money and get higher quality loops!

Summary: Great for more than just kids.
Comment: It's too bad this is marketed to just kids. The company could broaden that focus and double or triple its sales. This is an excellent product for meaningful time-filling productivity for people who are mentally handicapped as well as senior citizens. The bean bags and other items make this far more than just a kiddy pot holder "toy." The sad thing is that by only marketing it for "kids" as "fun" it risks demeaning it for others. I highly recommend this -- but for everyone.

Summary: Fun, but quality lacking
Comment: My kids loved the potholder loom set I bought, and wanted to make more. I ordered these but was disappointed in the quality of the loops. You get a lot of loops for your money, but they are not of a uniform thickness, there are many hanging threads, and some of the fabric has a bit of a 'heathered' effect, meaning those loops have two colors and do not really blend well with the other loops in the package. They seem to be fabric scraps, and the potholders created with them look kind of rough, not smooth and finished. The cotton does probably have more heat resistance than the synthetic ones, if you really want to use them, though, and if your kids are just interested in making them for fun, then it would be worth it. On Christmas this was one of the first toys my daughter wanted to play with.
