Comment: I had sea monkeys as a kid and it was my older sister that introduced them to me. I think the largest downfall for me was having to wait a full 24 hours (at least) to purify the water before hatching the eggs.
It's been about ten years at least since I had my first sea monkey set and I just bought this magic castle set as well as a hang ten set from a local Toys R US store this past week. I would have to say that the magic castle design is better than the hang ten in my opinion because it's more magnified due to the overall shape. Also, I prefer a smaller opening [...] I'm very happy with the purchase.
The eggs have hatched for me all three times that I have purchased these kits. I've never had a problem with that. I believe the first set I had gave me sea monkeys for about a year which is terrific and they're so low maintenance for a "pet". I highly recommend them.

Summary: love sea monkeys, but our packets were defective...
Comment: I'm not here to say this is a bad product. However, we bought BOTH the magic castle and the life on mars sets and BOTH came with egg packets that appeared to have gotten wet, or something. THey were supposed to be a powder that you pour into the pre-treated water, but when we opened the egg packets, they were sticky and clumpy. Needless to say, no sea monkeys were born, despite our following directions perfectly. There's no recourse and now I find myself having to order more packets, which makes my products MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE than they should be. Thought you should know.

Summary: i have always loved sea monkeys.
Comment: i am a college student and have always been fascinated with these! i've been very interested in aquariums and marine life. sea monkeys are fun and act as a very cool and interesting first pet for anyone. i bought this as a fun gift for a friend who wanted a pet, but isn't really allowed to have pets because of regulations in his apartment building.

Comment: (...) pets ever and i mean it they are fun to watch and fun to raise and by my experience i think they live long because mine did they dont need more that food and regular cleaning thats all you need to do to have the greatest pets ever and for every one who says they are ugly they are not the pics may show some ugly freaks but beleive me they are milion times niceeer then that
